What is greed? Is it wanting the best for yourself and your children? I don't think that is greed. Probably wanting the property of someone else could be called greed. Wanting anything in excess of what we need when there are those without the necessities? Could we call that greed? Greed and coveting are difficult concepts to determine, and above all, we don't want to be judgemental of ourselves or anyone else. What do you think about this topic?

I see greed as an 'excessive' desire for things to the point of becoming unbalanced within ourselves... knowing everyones definition for what is excessive can be different...and i really liked what the others said, too...all very fitting descriptions...thanks for the contemplations(:

Greed. Is taking more than you give. Grees is sitting in a palace with all you could want and more while the peasants live in squallor.

I think it is God's wish that we live in abundance.
If I want the best computer, the biggest TV or the nicest guitar I can find I am being a bit materialistic but not greedy. If I step on anyone who gets in my way to those things or conjure up ways to con people out of their money or use slick ways influence people then I am being greedy.
If I choose to buy a new guitar instead of sending that money to starving people in Africa I am not being greedy, but if after I buy that guitar and I still have more money than I need, all the bills are paid, there is food in the fridge and I refuse to send a few dollars to where it could help people in unfortunate situations then I am greedy.
Peace,
Kevin
